    நாடகத்தைப் பார்க்க பெரிய விலங்குகளை அழைக்கலாம் என்று அவை முடிவெடுத்தன

    மான் குட்டி உள்பட அனைத்து சிறிய விலங்குகளுக்கும் நாடகத்தில் நடிக்க வேடம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது. ஆனால் நீர் எலி குட்டிக்கு எந்த வேடமும் கொடுக்கப்படவில்லை.

    “எனக்கு எந்த வேடமும் தரவில்லை” என்று முறையிட்டது நீர் எலி குட்டி.

    “உன்னுடைய பற்கள் வாயிலிருந்து வெளியே அசிங்கமாக நீட்டிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது. அத உனக்கு எந்த வேடமும் கிடையாது” என்று சொன்னது ஓநாய் குட்டி.

    அதைக் கேட்ட நீர் எலி குட்டி வருத்தத்துடன் தன்னுடைய வீட்டிற்கு சென்றது.

    ஒரு காலத்தில் ஒரு நாரை கொக்குக் குடும்பத்தில் வாழ்ந்து வந்தது. ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் கொக்குகள் அருகிலுள்ள பண்ணைப் பகுதிகளுக்கு பறந்து செல்லும். அங்கு விவசாயிகளின் குளங்களில் உள்ள மீன்களைத் திருடுவது அவற்றின் வழக்கம். நாரையும் அவற்றுடன் பறக்கும். ஆனாலும் அது கொக்குகளுடன் சேர்ந்து திருடுவதில்லை.ஒரு நாள் கொக்குகள் சோளத்தைத் திருட ஒரு விவசாயியின் வயலுக்குப் பறந்தன. வழக்கம் போல நாரையும் கூடவே சென்றது. திருடும் பறவைகளைப் பிடிக்க விவசாயி வலை போட்டிருந்தார் கொக்குகள் தரையில் இறங்கிய போது, அவை வலையில் சிக்கின. அவற்றுடன் நம் நாரையும் பிடிபட்டது.
